It has been run by the present owner and his family since 2003 and has 3 suites, 4 single rooms and a homely dining/ communal area which fulfils the functions of restaurant, lounge and bar. It has at its disposition a number of the best private beats/stretches in the middle part of the river.
The Fishing
Beiarn Guesthouse has at its disposition a number of the best private beats/stretches in the middle part of the river. Beiar River is well known for large salmon and it is not unusual to see a number of around 15 kilos (33lbs) catches during the season. The river also boasts a high number of good sized sea trout during the latter end of July and August. It is considered to be among the 3-5 best sea trout rivers in Norway. Beiarn Guesthouse also offers fishing on a number of public beats along the whole river. Each beat is 3 - 5 kilometres long, single bank and has a rod limitation, offering quite generous space per rod. This is not exclusive fishing and on certain weeks the beats are well visited. The river was closed for 13 years due to the parasite Gyrodactylus salaris. However, the river reopened in 2001 and is bouncing back to its former glory.

It is one of the few rivers in Norway that encourage catch and release but allows an angler to bring home a couple of salmon during a week fishing. The prime time is considered to be 20 June to end of July with the August rated best for sea trout.
